| Tribal Escort and Guidance Interpretation (NTSU 114-2) | This course is designed to equip students with professional competencies in planning and executing Indigenous tribal guided tours. Integrating Austronesian issues with themes such as rituals, traditional crafts, and daily life, the curriculum guides students in interpreting Indigenous knowledge from diverse perspectives. Through sessions with tribal elders and experts, students examine the practicalities, ethics, and risk management involved in field guiding. A core component involves fieldwork within students’ own communities, where they conduct historical research, design tour routes, and draft narrative scripts. Ultimately, the course fosters interpretive practices that respect tribal subjectivity while addressing tourism demands, thereby promoting the authentic representation and sustainable transmission of Indigenous culture. |
| Tribal Society and Communication Culture Seminar (I) (NTSU 114-2) | This course explores the formation and evolution of Taiwan’s Indigenous tribal societies through both historical and contemporary lenses. It examines key themes such as tribal migration, social structures, and cultural heritage—including Austronesian traditions, rituals, architecture, and traditional arts—to reveal their underlying worldviews. By analyzing how different groups navigate modernization and political challenges, students will gain insight into Indigenous resilience and adaptation. The curriculum integrates guest lectures by tribal elders and experts, documentary screenings, and critical discussions on the interplay between state policies and tribal life. The goal is to foster respect for cultural subjectivity and diversity, strengthening students’ cultural identity and historical consciousness. Ultimately, the course empowers students to actively participate in sustainable tribal development and the preservation of cultural heritage. |
